i always say one of the BEST things about my job are all the awesome people i get to meet. so many of them have ended up becoming sweet friends. i first met pati when she brought her baby girl in for her newborn session last year, and then i was able to take their family portraits last fall. i immediately LOVED their whole family. pati is incredibly creative and has started her own business making

long eyelashes, beautiful black hair, and the sweetest little face. griffin... you are a precious little one.

this is my little boy. and today, he turns seven years old. jackson orian... we love you more than simple words could ever express. you are the bravest, hardest working little boy. you are generous, you are so smart, and you delight in the happiness of others. seven years ago you made me a mommy, and i have treasured every day since- just like i treasure you. happy birthday, my sweet jackson.

i first met this precious little guy on his birth*day and immediately fell in love. all snuggly and sweet with gorgeous eyelashes and a perfect little face, he slept through the entire session for me. oh mateo- you are such a little love!

little miss mayson had a well-documented first week of life! i had the amazing opportunity to photograph both her birth and meeting her big sister. five days later, she came to my studio for her newborn session. she arrived sleepy and stayed that way the entire time! sweet mayson let us do all kinds of fun things- her mommy is a dear friend and we've been planning her session for awhile. we were very happy

precious mateo gave his mommy a long labor, and eventually ended up having to arrive via c-section. born at 2:40 in the morning, i got to meet him when he was just ten hours old. he wasn't a big fan of being unwrapped from his blanket, but he loved holding onto his mommy's finger. it was such an honor to meet this family for the first time as they welcomed their baby into the

going to see a new baby in the hospital is such a precious, intimate time. i love capturing those sweet moments that are over before you know it. after photographing mayson's birth, i went home for a few hours and then headed back. i had the privilege of being there when mayson met her big sister, raegan. to see this little family all together for the first time was a precious, precious moment.

there are those experiences in your life that you truly will never forget. getting to be a part of sweet mayson's birth is definitely one of those. i have three children of my own, but all three were born c-section.  i've never actually seen a regular birth. so when my dear friend, jenna, asked me to photograph hers, i was excited and, admittedly, pretty nervous .  jenna was scheduled to be induced early in

i get to photograph a lot of newborns, and it is always amazing to me when i photograph a one-year-old. in one short year, these little people go from sleeping, crying infants, unable to do anything on their own. just a short year later, they are walking, beginning to talk, eating real food, and playing. beautiful baby jaxon is almost one year old, and full of sunshine. i have no doubt this past year has
